This is the 60th Surah of the Qur’an and it has 13 verses. This Surah has some brand new concepts not yet expounded in the previous chapters. God enjoins upon believers kindness and compassion toward all human beings. He permits them to fight those who attack them on account of faith or evict them from their homelands.

In Prophet Abraham and his blessed companions is an excellent pattern of conduct for all humanity.(sa).

 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِمَا جَاءَكُمْ مِنَ الْحَقِّ يُخْرِجُونَ الرَّسُولَ وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۙ أَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ رَبِّكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ خَرَجْتُمْ جِهَادًا فِي سَبِيلِي وَابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِي ۚ تُسِرُّونَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِمَا أَخْفَيْتُمْ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُمْ ۚ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْهُ مِنْكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ

হে ঈমান্দাৰসকল! তোমালোকে মোৰ শত্ৰু আৰু তোমালোকৰ শত্ৰুক বন্ধুৰূপে গ্ৰহণ নকৰিবা, তোমালোকে সিহঁতৰ প্ৰতি বন্ধুত্বৰ বাৰ্তা প্ৰেৰণ কৰিছা, অথচ সিহঁতে, তোমালোকৰ ওচৰত যি সত্য* আহিছে, সেইটো প্ৰত্যাখ্যান কৰিছে, ৰাছুলক আৰু তোমালোকক বহিষ্কাৰ কৰিছে এই কাৰণে যে, তোমালোকে তোমালোকৰ প্ৰতিপালক আল্লাহৰ প্ৰতি ঈমান আনিছা। যদি তোমালোকে মোৰ পথত জিহাদ কৰিবলৈ আৰু মোৰ সন্তুষ্টি লাভৰ বাবে ওলাইছা, তেন্তে কিয় তোমালোকে সিহঁতৰ লগত গোপনে বন্ধুত্ব কৰিছা? আৰু তোমালোকে যি গোপন কৰা আৰু তোমালোকে যি প্ৰকাশ কৰা সেই বিষয়ে মই সম্যক অৱগত। তোমালোকৰ মাজত যিয়ে এনেকুৱা কৰিব সি সৰল পথৰ পৰা বিচ্যুত হ’ব।

৪৩:৭৮(কোৰআনৰ সত্য বহুতৰ বাবে জহৰ তিতা)

لَقَدْ جِئْنَاكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ

আল্লাহে ক’ব, ‘অৱশ্যে আমি তোমালোকৰ ওচৰত সত্য লৈ আহিছিলো, কিন্তু তোমালোকৰ সৰহভাগেই আছিল সত্য অপছন্দকাৰী’।

✍️Verse/Note:

60:1. O Jamat-ul-Momineen, do not take the enemies of the Divine System, who are 

also your enemies, as your friends (3:117). While they are opposing this Code of Divine 

Order that has come from the Almighty, you should never establish relations of affection 

and affinity with them. (The basis of relations should be your Deen and not personal 

preferences or family ties ~ 60:4; 9, 13.) Their enmity is so deep that they have forced the 

Rasool and yourself to leave your homes, simply because you have professed Eiman on 

Allah, your Rabb. Just ponder whether these two attitudes can be together? On the one 

hand you come out to wage 'jehad' in order to establish this Divine System and following 

My Law; while on the other you establish secret friendships with these enemies? 

Remember, whatever you conceal or reveal is all known to me; and whoever from 

amongst you does this, will stray from the right path.

(৩:১১৭

مَثَلُ مَا يُنْفِقُونَ فِي هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

এই পাৰ্থিৱ জীৱনত সিহঁতে যি ব্যয় কৰে তাৰ উদাহৰণ হিমশীতল বতাহৰ দৰে, যিটোৱে আঘাত কৰে সেই জাতিৰ শস্য খেতিত যিসকলে নিজৰ ওপৰত অন্যায় কৰিছে; তাৰ পিছত সেই বতাহে সেয়া ধ্বংস কৰি দিয়ে। আল্লাহে সিহঁতৰ প্ৰতি কোনো অন্যায় কৰা নাই, সিহঁতে নিজেই নিজৰ প্ৰতি অন্যায় কৰিছে।)

إِنْ يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا لَكُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَيَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوءِ وَوَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ

সিহঁতে যদি তোমালোকৰ ওপৰত প্ৰাধান্য লাভ কৰে তেন্তে সিহঁত তোমালোকৰ শত্ৰু হ’ব লগতে হাত আৰু জিভাৰ দ্বাৰা তোমালোকৰ অনিষ্ট সাধন কৰিব, আৰু সিহঁতে কামনা কৰে যদি তোমালোকে কুফৰী কৰিলাহেঁতেন!

The hypocrites, the traitors and the disbelievers want you too to reject this message. For the 

corrupt and the criminal there are many immediate and short term gains to be made from 

creating fear and turmoil. God's messenger was encouraged to make-up alternative doctrines. See

لَنْ تَنْفَعَكُمْ أَرْحَامُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ ۚ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

তোমালোকৰ আত্মীয়-স্বজন আৰু সন্তান-সন্ততি কিয়ামতৰ দিনা কোনো উপকাৰ কৰিব নোৱাৰিব। আল্লাহে তোমালোকৰ মাজত ফয়চালা কৰি দিব; আৰু তোমালোকে যি কৰা সেই বিষয়ে আল্লাহ সৰ্বদ্ৰষ্টা।

60:3. It is true that you have blood relations with them, but remember that on the Day 

of Judgment, neither your relatives nor your children will be of any help. At that time you 

would be visibly separated from each other; and it will be your own deeds which Allah

sees so well, that will help you.pz.

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَآءُ مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّىٰ تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ إِلَّا قَوْلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ لَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۖ رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

নিশ্চয় তোমালোকৰ বাবে ইব্ৰাহীম আৰু তেওঁৰ লগত যিসকল আছিল তেওঁলোকৰ মাজত উত্তম আদৰ্শ আছে। যেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে নিজ সম্প্ৰদায়ক কৈছিল, ‘তোমালোকৰ লগত আৰু তোমালোকে আল্লাহৰ পৰিবৰ্তে যিসকলৰ উপাসনা কৰা সেইসকলৰ পৰা আমি সম্পৰ্কমুক্ত। আমি তোমালোকক অস্বীকাৰ কৰো। আমাৰ আৰু তোমালোকৰ মাজত চিৰকালৰ বাবে শত্ৰুতা আৰু বিদ্বেষ সৃষ্টি হ’ল; যেতিয়ালৈকে তোমালোকে এক আল্লাহৰ প্ৰতি ঈমান পোষণ নকৰিবা’। কিন্তু ইব্ৰাহীমৰ নিজ পিতাৰ প্ৰতি কৰা এই উক্তিটো ব্যতিক্ৰম যে, ‘মই নিশ্চয় আপোনাৰ বাবে ক্ষমা প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিম কিন্তু মই আপোনাৰ হকে আল্লাহৰ পৰা কিবা উপকাৰ কৰিবলৈ মোৰ সাধ্য নাই’। (ইব্ৰাহীম আৰু তেওঁৰ অনুসাৰীসকলে কৈছিল) হে আমাৰ প্ৰতিপালক! ‘আমি তোমাৰেই প্ৰতি নিৰ্ভৰ কৰিছো, আৰু তোমাৰেই অভিমুখী হৈছো আৰু তোমাৰ ওচৰলৈকেই আমাৰ প্ৰত্যাৱৰ্তন’।

[60:4] A good example has been set for you by Abraham and those with 

him.🏵️ They said to their people, "We abandon you and the idols that you 

set up to rank with God. We denounce you and you will see nothing from us 

except resistance and opposition until you believe in God alone." However, 

the exception was when Abraham said to his father, "I will implore for your 

protection, but I possess no power to save you from God." "Our Sustainer, 

we trust in You and turn to You. To You is the final return.🌹.

NOTE:

🏵️Abraham, the messenger, was an exemplary character in following God's guidance. Those who 

believe should do the same. Muhammad is also an example: see verse 33:21. See also 40:66.

🌹Serve God alone and follow Quran alone. See verses 6:50; 7:70; 11:45-47; 39:45; 40:12; 40:84.

✍️Note:edip:

See 33:21. The Arabic word wahdahu (alone) occurs in the Quran six times and one of them is used to instruct us to follow the Quran alone (17:46). The expression Allahu wahdahu (God alone) occurs in 7:70; 39:45; 40:12 and 60:4. 

We may pray for polytheists to attain salvation; but we cannot ask God to forgive them (4:48, 116).(+. 9:114, 19:47).

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

‘হে আমাৰ প্ৰতিপালক! তুমি আমাক কাফিৰসকলৰ ফিতনাৰ* পাত্ৰ নকৰিবা। হে আমাৰ প্ৰতিপালক! তুমি আমাক ক্ষমা কৰি দিয়া; নিশ্চয় তুমি পৰাক্ৰমশালী, প্ৰজ্ঞাময়’।

১০:৮৫

فَقَالُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

তেতিয়া সিহঁতে ক’লে, ‘আমি আল্লাহৰ ওপৰতেই নিৰ্ভৰ কৰিলো। হে আমাৰ ৰব! তুমি আমাক যালিম সম্প্ৰদায়ৰ উৎপীড়নৰ পাত্ৰ নকৰিবা’।)

Ghafarah = Helmet = Protection = Forgiveness = Guarding against detriment = Absolution of faults = Protection against intrinsic or extrinsic loss.

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيهِمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ

নিশ্চয় তোমালোকৰ বাবে উত্তম আদৰ্শ আছে সেইসকল লোকৰ মাজত, যিসকলে আল্লাহ আৰু শেষ দিৱসৰ প্ৰত্যাশা কৰে; আৰু যিয়ে মুখ ঘূৰাই লয় (সি জানি লোৱা উচিত যে) নিশ্চয় আল্লাহেই হৈছে অভাৱমুক্ত, স্বয়ং প্ৰশংসিত।

In the name of GOD (Bis'mi-llahi), the GRACIOUS (Er' Rah'maani), the MERCIFUL (Er' Rahiim).

[60:1] O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) take (Tattakhizu') MY enemies 

(Åduwwii) and (Wa) your enemies (Åduwwa-kum’) as allies (Aw'liyaa'a), offering (Tul'quuna Bi) friendship 

(El'Mawaddati) to them (ilai'him) while (Wa) they have (Qad') disbelieved (Kafaru') in what (Bimaa) has 

come to you (Jaa'a-kum) of (Mina) the truth (43:78) (El'Haqqi), who expelled (Yukh'rijuuna) the Messenger 

(Er'Rasuula) and (Wa) yourselves (Iyyaa-kum’) because (An) you believe (Tu'minu') in GOD (Billahi), your 

LORD (Rabbi-kum). If (In) you have (Kuntum) gone out (Kharaj'tum) to strive (Jihaadan) in (Fii) MY way 

(Sabiilii) and seeking (Eb'tigaa'a) MY approval (Mar'doatii), would you confide in them (Tusirruuna ilai'him)

with friendship (Bil' Mawaddati)? But (Wa) I am (Anaa') aware (A'lamu) of what (Bimaa) you have 

concealed (Akh'fai'tum) and what (Wamaa) you have declared (A'lantum). And (Wa) whoever (Man) does it 

(Yaf'ål'hu) among you (Minkum), then (Fa) he has (Qad’) strayed (Dolla)

from the straight (Sawaa'a) way (Es'Sabiil).

[60:2] If (In) they (the disbelievers) should apprehend you (Yath'qafuu-kum), they would be (Yakuunu') enemies 

(A'daa'an) to you (Lakum) and (Wa) stretch (Yab'sutuu') their hands (Ai'diya-hum’) at you (ilai'kum) and (Wa)

their tongues (Al'sinata-hum) with (Bi) evil (Es'Suui), and (Wa) they wish (Waddu' Law') you would 

disbelieve (Tak'furuun).

[60:3] Never (Lan) will your kinship (Ar'haamu-kum’) nor (Walaa) your children (Aw'laadu-kum) benefit 

you (Tanfaå-kum’); HE will judge (Yaf'silu) between you (p) (Bai'nakum) on the Day of Resurrection 

(Yaw'mal' Qiyaamati). For (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is cognizant (Basiir) of what (Bimaa) you do (Ta'maluuna). 

[60:4] There has (Qad') been (Kaanat) a good (Hasanatun) pattern (Us'watun) for you (Lakum’) in (Fii)

Abraham (Ib'raahiima) and (Wa) those (Ellaziina) with him (Maåhu), when (Iz') they said to (Qaalu' Li) their 

people (Qaw'mi-him), "Indeed, we (Innaa) are free (Bura'aau') from you (Minkum) and (Wa) from what 

(Mimmaa) you worship (Ta'buduuna) besides GOD (Min Duuni-llahi). We reject you (Kafar'naa Bi-kum), so

(Wa) antagonism (El'Ådaawatu) and hatred (Wal' Bag'doau) has appeared (Badaa) between us and you 

(Bai'naa Wa Bai'na-kumu) forever (Abadan) until (Hattaa) you believe (Tu'minu') in GOD (Billahi) alone 

(Wah'dahu)," however (illa) Abraham (9:114) (Ib'raahiima) said to (Qaw'la Li) his father (Abii-hi), "I will (La)

apologize (As'tag'firanna) for you (Laka), but (Wa) I do not (Maa) control (Am'liku) anything (Min Shai')

against GOD (Minallahi) for you (Laka)." "Our LORD (Rabba-naa), on YOU (Ålai'ka) we have relied

(Tawakkal'naa), and (Wa) to YOU (ilai'ka) we have repented (Anab'naa) and to YOU (ilai'ka) is the destiny 

(El'Masiir). (33:21)

[60:5] "Our LORD (Rabba-naa), do not (Laa) render us (Taj'ål'na) as trial (Fit'natan) for those who (Lillaziina)

disbelieve (Kafaru'), but (Wa) forgive us (Eg'fir' La-naa), our LORD (Rabba-naa). Indeed (Innaka), YOU 

(Anta) are the ALMIGHTY (El' Åziizu), the WISE (El' Hakiim)."

[60:6] There has certainly (Laqad') been (Kaana) a good (Hasanatun) pattern (Us'watun) for you (Lakum) in

them (Fiihim) for whoever (Liman) is (Kaana) expecting GOD (Yar'ju'llaha) and (Wa) the Last Day 

(El'Yaw'mal' Aakhira). And (Wa) whoever (Man) turns away (Yatawalla), then (Fa) indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is 

(Huwa) the RICH (El' Ganiyyu), the PRAISEWORTHY (El' Hamiid). (60:4)
